Christopher L. Augostini is the 22nd president of Emory University. Prior to this role, he served as Emory’s executive vice president and enterprise chief operating officer, where he led the strategic and operational integration of Emory University and Emory Healthcare. In this enterprise-wide position, he and his teams ensured Emory’s academic and clinical missions were strategically and sustainably advanced.
Appointed executive vice president and enterprise chief operating officer in 2025, Augostini previously spent more than eight years as Emory University’s executive vice president for business and administration and chief financial officer, and for three of those years also served as chief financial officer for Emory Healthcare. In these roles, the chief financial officers of both Emory University and Emory Healthcare reported to him. His portfolio included strategic oversight of integrated capital planning and real estate, investment management, finance, debt management, enterprise risk management, internal audit, and compliance integration across the Emory enterprise. Augostini also provided oversight for the university’s administrative functions, including business operations, information technology and cybersecurity, human resources, and public safety.
